The MVD warns: phone scammers!
Financial fraudsters constantly change their deception scenarios. However, there are phrases that give criminals away. Here are some of them:
«A loan application has been submitted»
If you did not submit an application, but are told about a pre-approved loan, just hang up. Do not continue the conversation — otherwise, by saying too much, you will certainly help the fraudsters take out a loan in your name and steal your money.
«An employee of the Central Bank»
Real employees of the Bank of Russia do not call or write to citizens to carry out any banking operations. This is what fake employees of the mega-regulator do.
«A special or safe account»
A common legend of fraudsters who convince people to transfer their savings to a «special» account — supposedly to keep the money safe. However, «special» («safe», «protected», etc.) accounts do not exist.
«You are contacted by a financial security specialist, an employee of the bank's security service»
It is easy to distinguish a fraudster from a real security service specialist: the former will ask about your card details or the code from an SMS. Moreover, he will not be able to tell you the current account balance.
