Coriolis flow meters for oil & gas

The medium flows through vibrating sensor tubes. Coriolis forces shift the phase of the tube oscillation, and that phase shift is proportional to mass flow. The meter calculates mass directly, without compensations for density or temperature.

Along with mass flow, the meter measures fluid density and temperature. Volume flow and other values are derived from them; the density measurement range is 650–2000 kg/m³.

It measures mass directly: no corrections for density or temperature, no straight pipe runs, no conversion factors. Turbine and ultrasonic meters measure volume, so custody transfer applications require additional correctors and corrections.

Free gas in the stream limits liquid measurement accuracy. At larger line sizes the meter costs more than volumetric options. High pressure and aggressive media require special executions. Choosing a meter type is always a trade-off between accuracy, size and budget.

Mass measurement does not depend on the density of the mixture, so water cut alone is not a problem; on a metering skid the meter works as part of the SIKN system. The limitation is free gas: it reduces accuracy, so the metering section is designed to keep free gas to a minimum. We will assess the flow parameters from your datasheet.

Yes, the meters also handle gas: allowable error for gas is ±0.5–1.0% depending on size. Gas condensate (liquid phase) is measured with standard executions. Complex gas-liquid regimes are evaluated individually from the flow parameters.

Yes, for the liquid phase of LPG (propane, butane, their mixtures): pressure-rated P and PK executions with flameproof ME100/ME200 transmitters. See the "LPG" page for details.

D-type sensors: they measure from 0.1 kg/h, work on 12.5 / 25 / 45 MPa injection lines and tolerate the pulsating flow of dosing pumps. See the "Methanol dosing" and "Dosing systems" pages.

For such media we select tube materials with higher corrosion resistance: Hastelloy C276/C4, duplex, 904L. The specific material depends on the medium composition and temperature; attach a fluid analysis to your datasheet.

Yes. For high-viscosity products a straight-tube L sensor is used; if the product tends to solidify (high-paraffin crude, heavy fractions), an isothermal jacket is added — option 19S.

U-shaped — universal, DN03–DN250: custody transfer and process streams. L (straight tube) — viscous products and cleaning duties, DN08–DN50. W — compact, self-draining, DN08–DN100, up to 10 MPa. The choice depends on the medium, flow rate and installation.

Standard — up to 10 MPa; P — main sizes up to 45 MPa; PK — up to 96 MPa (003…PK sizes). Check the type description tables for the maximum for a specific line size.

The family covers −196…+350 °C: cryogenic L execution down to −196 °C and high-temperature C up to +350 °C. The working execution is selected for the process temperature.

Flanges to GOST, ANSI and DIN standards, plus threaded connections, depending on size and execution. The connection type and face-to-face length are fixed at the selection stage.

Fill in the datasheet (or the online configurator): medium, flow rate, pressure, temperature, connection and hazardous area requirements. We will select the execution and send a quotation; the price depends on the combination of parameters — line size, materials, pressure and Ex execution.

We select an execution with matching process and mounting dimensions; in many cases the replacement is done without welding. Compatibility with previously installed meters (including Micro Motion and Endress+Hauser) is checked against mounting dimensions and interfaces — send a photo of the nameplate or a piping drawing.

Liquids: from ±0.1% to ±1.0% depending on size; custody transfer typically uses accuracy from 0.1%. Gases: ±0.5–1.0%. Every meter is calibrated individually on a flow calibration rig.

The meter is entered in the State Register of Measuring Instruments under No. 98506-26. This allows its use in the sphere of state metrological regulation: custody transfer, metering skids (SIKN), and settlements between supplier and customer. Metrological documents are available on this website.

Verification follows the approved procedure: on flow calibration rigs with reference meters, or on site using provers, without removing the meter. The company also supplies verification equipment — pipe provers and compact provers.

It is the ratio of maximum to minimum flow within which the rated accuracy is maintained. A wide turndown matters under variable regimes: loading operations, periodic pumping, low night-time flows.

No. Coriolis meters do not require straight runs — unlike turbine, vortex and ultrasonic meters. This simplifies skid layout and replacement on existing piping.

Orientation is flexible; for viscous and fouling products the sensor is installed so that it drains itself. We give project-specific orientation guidance at the design stage; it is also covered in the operating manual.

Vibration resistance is confirmed to GOST R IEC 60068-2-6 (5–55 Hz, 0.35 mm, three axes). On plunger pump lines the solution is field-proven in dosing service — see the "Methanol dosing" page.

4–20 mA with HART, RS-485 Modbus RTU, CAN and frequency/pulse output 0–10,000 Hz; PROFIBUS PA is an option, execution-dependent. Integration with DCS and metering systems is a standard task.
