Design by operating conditions

C

Ultra-high temperature

Design C is intended for operation under ultra-high process fluid temperatures — from −50 °C to +350 °C. Optimized for petrochemical processes, high-temperature reactors and heat treatment units. Remote (separate) design is mandatory — the electronics unit is mounted in a safe area.

Overview

C — Ultra-high temperature

Design C is specifically engineered for processes where the process fluid temperature exceeds the capabilities of the standard design T (+150 °C). The use of specialized heat-resistant materials, thermal decoupling and mandatory remote electronics enables reliable operation at temperatures up to +350 °C.

Design

Design features of design C

Design C is based on standard Mass-EXPERT sensors, but with a number of design modifications that ensure reliable operation at ultra-high temperatures.

Ultra-high temperature up to +350 °C

Special heat-resistant materials of the measuring tubes and housing withstand extreme temperature loads.

Remote (separate) design

The electronics unit (transmitter) is mounted in a safe area and connected to the sensor by an extension cable.

Remote electronics

The transmitter can be installed up to 15 m from the sensor.

Schematic diagram and installation features of flow meters in design C

Sensor
In the high-temperature zone

Installed directly on a high-temperature pipeline or reactor. Contains no electronic components — only measuring coils and temperature sensors.

Extension cable
3 m (standard); up to 15 m

Shielded cable. Transmits excitation and measurement signals without loss of accuracy.

Transmitter (electronics)
In the safe area

Installed in an area with permissible temperature. Performs signal processing and output signal generation. Can be mounted in a cabinet or on a DIN rail.

The remote (separate) design allows Mass-EXPERT Coriolis flow meters to be used in processes with a process medium temperature of up to +350 °C, keeping the electronics in comfortable conditions and extending their service life.
