Overview

Straight-tube sensor type (L)

The straight-tube design (L) uses bend-free measuring tubes that ensure unobstructed product passage without stagnant zones. This configuration is the optimal solution for media with high viscosity, abrasive particles, aggressive chemical properties, as well as for products sensitive to mechanical impact. Straight tubes also provide minimum hydraulic resistance and ease of cleaning.

Advantages

Why choose the straight-tube type (L)

The straight-tube design of the measuring tubes is an engineering solution that removes the limitations inherent in bent sensors for specific operating conditions.

Minimum pressure loss

The straight tube geometry creates no additional hydraulic resistance, which is especially important for high-viscosity media and systems with limited pump head.

Ease of cleaning

The absence of bends and pockets ensures complete drainage and efficient cleaning. Ideal for production with frequent product changes (CIP/SIP cleaning).

️

Abrasion resistance

Particles in suspensions and slurries do not strike the walls of bends with increased force, which significantly reduces erosive wear and extends sensor service life.

Union connection

The compact union design (Tri-Clamp, union nut thread) simplifies integration into existing pipelines, especially in food and pharmaceutical lines. Installation and removal require no welding.

Aggressive media

Straight tubes made of corrosion-resistant materials per the Mass-EXPERT material range (high-Ni 316L, 904L, Hastelloy, titanium, etc.) ensure reliable operation with acids, alkalis and aggressive reagents.

3-A hygienic design

Internal surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, no crevices or sharp transitions — full compliance with the 3-A Sanitary Standards for food equipment.

Industries

Recommended industries

The Mass-EXPERT straight-tube sensor type is recommended for a wide range of industries that require handling viscous, abrasive, aggressive or mechanically sensitive products.

Oil & gas

Measurement of fuel oils, bitumen and high-viscosity petroleum products. Straight tubes ensure free passage of heavy media without clogging.

Fuel oils, bitumen, tars, high-viscosity petroleum products

Cement industry

Handling of suspensions, milk of lime and mineral slurries. Abrasion resistance is a key advantage.
